‘The Kremerata Baltica play as if each note is a human life: you don’t often hear that.’
Founded in 1997 by renowned violinist Gidon Kremer, the Grammy-Award winning chamber orchestra Kremerata Baltica is considered to be one of Europe’s most prominent international ensembles.
For Kremerata Baltica, we not only created a website design, but also compiled and created much of the content to showcase many aspects of the orchestra's activities. This helped drive traffic to the site via Google search and provide a more engaging experience for site visitors.
In addition to designing the public-facing website, we also created a sheet music library for secure and easy storage and sharing of sheet music. We also developed a virtual office for administration and orchestra members.
The homepage introduces the orchestra to the website visitors. It contains a short list of upcoming events, recent news, a discography, a few sentences about the orchestra and quotes. If the visitor wants to learn more about something, he can click on the link to the corresponding page.
To make it easy for users to find what they are looking for, we have distributed the information about the orchestra on different pages. We have created a separate page for the orchestra's biography. Here we have also created a list of the orchestra members. Each member has their own profile on the site with a biography and links to their own websites, social media, etc.
The orchestra's artistic director, Gidon Kremer, also has a page where visitors can learn more about him.
A quotes page displays a stylized list of press quotes about the orchestra and its performances. Each quote links to the original article. It also displays a slideshow of images on the background.
We also wanted to display the list of awards the orchestra has received (including a Grammy!). To make the page more engaging, we created 3D models of awards and developed a custom interactive 3D image viewer. Awards were photographed and compiled by the Town Image Studio team from Ukraine.
We also created a separate page for the works that the orchestra has commissioned. Each composer also has their own profile on the site so visitors can learn more about them.
Besides the recording on YouTube and other services, we saw that there was a large archive of recordings of the orchestra in Latvian Radio. We developed an easy way for the website manager to include the recordings from the radio directly to the orchestra's website by simply adding a link.
Since the orchestra is mainly touring, we wanted to create an archive of the orchestra's activities. We developed a photo blog. Here, the website manager can create a separate page for each event and add photos, videos and text to not only create engaging content for website visitors, but also add additional content that can be indexed by Google and drive additional traffic to the website.
The orchestra also has an impressive discography. We have compiled all available information on each recording and created a separate page for each CD. Here visitors can find the performers with their profiles, links to streaming platforms and online stores, as well as information about the CD and press quotes.
We have created a special page to collect all the necessary information that is often requested by promoters and the press. Here we have added the downloads for high and low resolution photos, bios in multiple languages, project descriptions, etc. Now the orchestra can share all the necessary information with a single link.
